It was only a year ago that I shot the Kaiser Chiefs just down the road at the Portsmouth Guildhall, they were wicked. So it was great when I got the commission from Ilikemusic to shoot them again, this time in my home town. As ever they had so much energy and put on an amazing show, wish the lighting could have been better, but pretty happy what I got.
By the time Dan has greeted you with an easy “hello mate”, you are in the company of a friend. He’s effortlessly comfortable with people wherever they come from and whatever they do, and somehow he manages to make the feeling mutual.
This ability to put people at ease creates the feeling of accessibility, comfort and complete honesty that’s captured in all his photography – one of his favourite memories as a photographer is running from a farmer with Carl Cox in a wheat field… With Dan the barriers are instantly down.
